The Opportunity:
KBR is seeking an accomplished Technical Advisor to join our high-performing Defence team. This pivotal role is suited to an experienced engineer or technician who thrives on technical leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and shaping technical direction across complex Defence programs.
- As a technical ambassador, you will provide expert insight that drives innovation, enhances engineering quality, and aligns technological solutions with organisational and Defence objectives. Your influence will play a key role in supporting long-term capability outcomes and ensuring technical excellence across our projects.
Responsibilities:
- Apply advanced engineering principles and independently solve complex engineering problems under general supervision.
- Represent KBR at technical conferences, working groups, and engagements, negotiating with key engineers and officials to resolve critical project issues.
- Provide high-level technical guidance to designers and less-experienced engineers, offering trusted interpretations, advice, and direction.
- Contribute to the management of measurable assets, which may include assigned staff or budget oversight.
- Perform additional tasks as directed to support project and organisational objectives.
As the ideal candidate you will bring:
- An undergraduate degree in Engineering
- A minimum of 7 years’ relevant engineering experience, ideally within Defence or similarly complex environments.
- Eligibility for membership with a recognised professional engineering body.
- Strong communication skills, stakeholder engagement experience, and a proven ability to guide and influence technical teams.
