The Opportunity
KBR is seeking a skilled Senior Systems Engineer to support the delivery of complex Defence platform systems. Working under broad direction, you will provide critical engineering advice, lead systems engineering activities, and ensure solutions meet safety, regulatory, and operational requirements.
This role offers the opportunity to influence technical outcomes across the full engineering lifecycle, from requirements and design through to verification, validation, and certification.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver complex systems engineering activities across Defence platform programs
- Develop and execute Systems Engineering Management Plans (SEMPs)
- Lead technical investigations and instructions, including V&V of engineering data
- Conduct hazard analysis and systems safety activities
- Support engineering design reviews and produce engineering support reports
- Manage configuration and change activities across mechanical and electrical systems
- Assess technical packages and contract deliverables against requirements and standards
- Ensure compliance with certification, regulatory, and legislative frameworks
- Identify and manage technical risks and uncertainties
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders, customers, and suppliers
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team capability uplift
As the ideal candidate you will bring:
- Bachelor of Engineering
- Chartered (or working towards)
- Demonstrated experience in systems engineering within Defence or complex environments
- Strong experience in configuration management, risk management & verification & validation (V&V) planning and execution
- Working knowledge of ASDEFCON contracting frameworks
- Experience in engineering design reviews and technical assurance
- Exposure to communications systems and/or cryptographic technologies (highly desirable)
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Active NV1 security clearance
