About the role – Instructional Designer

The successful candidate will support the Learning & Development team with practical, engaging learning that builds capability across projects - turning technical knowledge, safety standards and operational expertise into clear training that drives performance on site and in the office.

Key Responsibilities include;

• Engaging closely with subject matter experts (SMEs) to examine workflows and technical processes
• Interpreting complex operational content into clear learning needs aligned with learner outcomes
• Developing structured storyboards that outline the learning journey and activities
• Collaborating with SMEs and management to confirm solutions are practical and goal-aligned
• Creating high-quality interactive online learning modules
• Producing supporting learning artefacts such as videos, microlearning, assessments and guides
• Deploying learning content within the Litmos LMS with accessibility in mind
• Managing updates to maintain relevance and compliance
• Gathering feedback and monitoring engagement data to refine content
• Continuously improving learning solutions based on business needs and compliance requirements

Due to a high volume of project requirements in this area, this role is expected to run for approximately 6–12 months on a casual basis.

About you

• Hands-on experience designing and developing eLearning using modern authoring tools
• A strong foundation in adult learning theory and instructional design best practice
• Experience working with Litmos or similar LMS platforms
• Confidence partnering with SMEs to translate complex technical processes into accessible learning
• Experience in technical training environments such as construction, engineering, trades or health and safety
• Adaptability in using emerging AI tools to enhance learning workflows and engagement
• Creativity and innovation in designing digital learning from concept through to delivery
• Strong attention to detail, particularly in compliance or safety-related content
• A collaborative approach when working cross-functionally with internal stakeholders and external vendors
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment with a proactive mindset
