As we continue to grow across multiple large-scale projects, we’re looking for an experienced Project Accountant to join our Commercial & Finance teams. This role plays a key part in ensuring financial accuracy, strong commercial performance and real-time project reporting - helping us deliver outstanding outcomes for our clients and teams.
You’ll work closely with our Commercial Manager, Financial Controller and project delivery teams to drive cost control, forecasting, and financial governance across complex construction environments.

What you’ll do:
- Maintain accurate project cost reporting, ensuring coding integrity in Jobpac and alignment with commercial forecasts.
- Track actuals vs. budgets, identify variances, and recommend corrective actions.
- Support month-end reporting: accruals, cost-to-complete, performance summaries and cash flow forecasting.
- Reconcile subcontractor commitments, variations and retentions with Senior Contracts Managers.
- Partner with procurement and delivery teams to ensure financial accuracy across claims, POs and invoices.
- Prepare monthly financial and performance reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide financial modelling, trend analysis and insights to support commercial decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, delegations and statutory requirements.
- Contribute to continuous improvement across finance and commercial reporting processes.
- Collaborate with Project Managers, Project Coordinators, CAs and QS teams to uplift project financial literacy.
What you’ll bring:
- Proven experience in project accounting or commercial finance within civil infrastructure, construction, or engineering.
- Strong understanding of cost control, accruals, forecasting, and cash flow in project-based environments.
- Advanced Jobpac (or similar ERP) capability; strong Excel and reporting skills (Power BI desirable).
- Experience supporting large-scale project reporting and commercial performance analysis.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and stakeholder skills; able to partner across Finance, Commercial & Delivery teams.
- Highly organised, proactive and solutions-focused.
- Degree in Accounting, Finance or Commerce.
- CPA or CA (completed or in progress) preferred.
