About Kapitol

Kapitol is an innovation-driven construction company based in Melbourne, redefining how projects are delivered. As one of Australia’s fastest-growing design and construct businesses, we combine a fresh approach with deep industry expertise to deliver smarter, safer and more agile building solutions.

With a strong pipeline of complex projects across commercial, residential, education and high-tech sectors, we are building not just projects, but long-term capability across our people.

About the Role

This is an opportunity for an existing or emerging People & Culture Business Partner to step into a broader, high-impact role within a fast-paced, growing business.

Partnering closely with operational leaders and the wider People & Culture team, you will support workforce planning, performance, capability and engagement across a defined population—with ownership of our Early Careers cohort as a key area of focus.

You’ll play a critical role in shaping how we attract, develop and retain early talent, while continuing to build your capability as a trusted advisor to the business.

This role is ideally suited to a Senior HR Advisor ready to step into, or a developing Business Partner looking to deepen, true P&C partnering capability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with leaders to support workforce planning, performance and team effectiveness
  • Provide coaching and guidance across employee relations, development and engagement
  • Support the delivery of People & Culture initiatives aligned to business strategy
  • Own and evolve the Early Careers portfolio, including graduates, cadets and emerging talent
  • Partner with operational leaders to align early talent to project needs and capability gaps
  • Drive attraction, selection and onboarding for early careers talent in collaboration with Talent Acquisition
  • Shape development pathways, rotations and on-the-job learning experiences
  • Build and maintain strong university and education partnerships
  • Support managers to successfully lead and develop early career employees
  • Use data and insights to inform decision-making and continuously improve outcomes

About You

  • Experience as a Senior HR Advisor or developing/existing People & Culture Business Partner in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong generalist HR capability across business partnering, employee relations and performance support
  • Commercially minded, with the ability to link people initiatives to business outcomes
  • Confident engaging with operational leaders and building trusted relationships
  • An interest in early careers, talent development or workforce capability
  • Highly organised and adaptable, comfortable operating in an agile, scaling business
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach with a strong sense of ownership
  • Values-led, with a genuine commitment to development, inclusion and long-term retention
