About Kapitol

Kapitol is an innovation-driven construction company based in Melbourne set to outpace and disrupt the industry. As one of Australia’s fastest-growing design and construct enterprises, we proudly combine a fresh approach with decades of expertise. The result is smarter, safer, more agile building solutions, coupled with a diverse portfolio including commercial, residential, education, and high-tech industrial projects.

About the Role

As our Early Careers Business Partner, you will lead the design, delivery and continuous improvement of Kapitol’s Graduate and Early Careers Development Program. You will shape a best-in-class early talent experience that builds capability, supports project delivery, and creates a strong pipeline of future leaders across the business.

This is a highly collaborative role, partnering closely with People and Culture, Talent Acquisition, and operational leaders (Project Managers, Construction Managers, Heads of Departments) to align workforce planning, resourcing requirements, development pathways and long-term retention outcomes.

Key responsibilities;

  • Own the end-to-end design and delivery of Kapitol’s Graduate and Early Careers program, aligned to business strategy and growth plans
  • Build a structured development framework across technical capability, leadership and core professional skills
  • Create clear milestones, feedback loops, performance tracking and progression pathways to support development and retention
  • Partner with operational leaders to understand workforce needs and shape program structure, rotations, resourcing and capability uplift
  • Lead attraction strategies for graduates, cadets and early career talent, including events, assessment activities and selection processes
  • Build and maintain partnerships with universities, colleges and education providers to strengthen pipeline and diversity outcomes
  • Manage end-to-end recruitment and onboarding for program participants in partnership with Talent Acquisition
  • Design meaningful work experience and on-the-job learning that connects academic pathways to real project delivery
  • Establish strong mentoring and stakeholder engagement to support participant success and manager confidence
  • Evaluate program outcomes using feedback and data, and continuously improve participant experience and business impact
  • Collaborate with Marketing to promote the program internally and externally through success stories and outcomes

About you

  • Proven experience in early careers, talent development, recruitment, program delivery or learning and development (ideally in construction, engineering, or a complex project-based environment)
  • Strong capability in program design, career frameworks, workforce planning and stakeholder partnering
  • Confident building relationships with senior operational leaders and influencing outcomes through collaboration
  • A natural coach who can support early career employees with development, performance and day-to-day guidance
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills, comfortable presenting to groups and representing the business externally
  • Organised and commercially minded, with strong project management skills and a continuous improvement mindset
  • Values-led and genuinely committed to inclusion, meaningful development experiences and long-term retention
