In the face of rising levels of unmet legal need, Justice Connect designs and delivers high impact interventions to increase access to legal support and progress social justice.

Justice Connect’s acclaimed Engagement program undertake some of the most cutting-edge work at the intersection of justice, communications and technology. The multidisciplinary team work on projects that aim to scale Justice Connect’s reach and impact and improve the experience of people seeking legal help and the lawyers that help them. We aim to improve service efficiency by extending our reach to a growing cohort of people and not-for-profit organisations needing legal help.  

Our deep understanding of legal help consumers combined with our leading expertise in the law, research, design and communications ensure our projects are designed to meet the communities needs and deliver meaningful outcomes. 

Our ideal candidate

You'll bring to the team experience in the following areas:

  • Proven experience coordinating projects, with excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage timelines, tasks, risks, and budgets effectively.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with confidence engaging stakeholders, facilitating meetings, and keeping teams aligned on progress.
  • A user-centred mindset and commitment to accessibility, with experience designing or delivering resources that respond to real community needs.
  • Ability to support evaluation and reporting by tracking milestones, interpreting data, and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • A proactive and adaptable approach, with the ability to balance competing priorities and thrive in a high-performance, purpose-driven team.

What you will achieve in the role

In this role, you’ll work to

  • You’ll help deliver a nationally significant project that improves legal preparedness and digital inclusion for people often excluded from systems and left behind.
  • You’ll play a key role in creating clear, accessible, and empowering legal resources that make a real difference in thousands of people’s lives.
  • You’ll build trusted relationships with partners and stakeholders, expanding the project’s reach through outreach, webinars, and community building initiatives.
  • You’ll be the engine behind a well-coordinated project, keeping everything running smoothly and on track.
  • You’ll contribute to a learning culture, using feedback and data to improve outcomes and shape how we scale access to justice through digital innovation

A week in this role

If you were here last week, you would have:

  • Running a weekly project team check-in to track progress on milestones, assign tasks, and solve roadblocks together.
  • Coordinating with a pro bono law firm on the development of a new legal resource, reviewing drafts, sharing feedback, and aligning on next steps.
  • Drafting and sending stakeholder emails to promote an upcoming webinar, then supporting the event delivery on the day.
  • Updating the project plan and budget tracker, and preparing a progress report for the monthly meeting with the project funder.
  • Meeting with the MEL (Measurement, Evaluation, and Learning) Lead to check the latest data in the project dashboard and identify any trends to act on.
  • Reviewing and testing a new digital self-help resource for clarity and accessibility, identifying improvements, and working with the Senior Communications Lead to prepare the resource for launch.

Important role information

The position reports to the Head of Engagement.

Employment is part time (30 hours per week) fixed term until 30 June 2026 

The salary for this role is $86,050.81 per annum (pro rata) (plus 12% superannuation) with annual leave loading and generous salary packaging options.  

This role can be based at our Melbourne or Sydney CBD offices with 40% of the month in the workplace with hybrid working arrangements.
