In the face of rising levels of unmet legal need, Justice Connect designs and delivers high impact interventions to increase access to legal support and progress social justice.

Justice Connect’s acclaimed Innovation and Engagement team undertake some of the most cutting-edge work at the intersection of justice, communications and technology. The multidisciplinary team work on projects that aim to scale Justice Connect’s reach and impact and improve the experience of people seeking legal help and the lawyers that help them. We aim to improve service efficiency by building service provision and consumer facing tools, allowing us to extend our reach to a growing cohort of people and not-for-profit organisations needing legal help.  

Our deep understanding of legal help consumers combined with our leading expertise in the law, research, design, communications, digital outreach, and product development, ensure our projects are designed to meet the communities needs and deliver meaningful outcomes. 

Our ideal candidate

You'll bring to the team experience in the following areas:

  • Expertise in fundraising and donor stewardship, as well as a strong understanding of grants management. 
  • Experience identifying and coordinating funding opportunities, lead generation, donor acquisition, and relationship management. 
  • Highly organised, strategic, and able to work collaboratively in a team environment. 
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience in stakeholder relationship management.
  • Skills in data analysis, reporting, and CRM maintenance (Microsoft Dynamics experience preferred, but not essential).

Candidates will need to demonstrate commitment to Justice Connect's vision, strategy and values.

What you will achieve in the role

In this role, you’ll work to

  • Lead on the execution of Justice Connect’s multi-channel fundraising strategy.
  • Secure tied and untied funding that will help Justice Connect reach people in the community that need our services, allowing them to resolve their legal problems and access justice.
  • Craft compelling communications materials to attract, retain, and upgrade supporters of Justice Connect's work. 
  • Build relationships across the organisation to support the acquisition of new grants, and administer funding requirements for existing grants.

A week in this role

If you were here last week, you would have:

  • Conduct a weekly Grants Sweep to identify new grant opportunities and support Programs through the grant application process.
  • Build dynamic reports and dashboards to track the funding pipelines of various Justice Connect programs.
  • Run a Fundraising Working Group meeting, bringing together various stakeholders from within Justice Connect to collaborate on execution of our Fundraising Strategy. 
  • Collaborate with the Engagement Team to create a lead generation advertising campaign targeting potential one-off donors.
  • Design and build an email stewardship journey for new and existing donors.
  • Participate in a monthly 'retrospective' meeting with the Engagement Team to look back on wins, learnings, and opportunities from the last month.

Important role information

The position reports to Communications and Engagement Manager

Employment is full time permanent, part-time (0.8) will be considered for the right candidate.

The salary for this role is $79,697.84 per annum (plus 10.5% superannuation) with annual leave loading and generous salary packaging options.  

This role can be based at our Melbourne office on level 5, 446 Collins Street, or our Sydney office on level 5, 175 Liverpool Street, Sydney NSW 2000 with hybrid working - 40% of the month in the workplace.
