About the role:
Are you a WHS professional who enjoys being out in the business, building relationships and helping leaders and teams create safer workplaces?
Juniper is seeking a Work Health and Safety Advisor to our team, reporting to the WHS Manager. Based at our Balcatta office, this permanent full-time role will work across Juniper’s residential aged care and community services, providing practical WHS advice, coaching and support to managers and employees.
This is a hands-on role where collaboration and consultation are central to how we work. You’ll spend time across our services, building strong relationships, supporting the management of WHS risks and helping our teams put practical safety solutions in place.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the resolution of WHS concerns through effective consultation and communication.
- Foster positive working relationships that support a strong safety culture throughout Juniper.
- Provide coaching and guidance to managers, supervisors and employees on WHS matters.
- Coordinate hazard, incident and near-miss reporting processes, investigate incidents, injuries and high-risk events and support the implementation of corrective actions.
- Provide practical advice and guidance to managers and employees regarding WHS obligations and safe work practices.
- Undertake travel to Juniper services across metropolitan Perth, regional WA and remote locations as required.
- Participate in the development, review and revision of WHS policies, procedures, forms and guidance materials
Key Requirements:
- Diploma in Work Health and Safety, or higher-level WHS qualification.
- Experience within aged care, healthcare, community services or a similar operational environment is highly regarded.
- Strong knowledge of Western Australian WHS legislation, contemporary WHS practices and relevant industry standards.
- Demonstrated experience providing practical WHS advice, coaching and support to managers and employees.
- Practical experience conducting incident investigations, risk assessments and workplace audits.
- Incident investigation training (Lead ICAM or similar), Return to Work Coordinator and/or Lead Auditor qualifications are desirable.
- Current motor vehicle driver’s licence.
