About the role:

We are seeking a Community Support Worker to join our friendly and supportive Home and Community Care team in Kununurra, located in the stunning Kimberley region of Western Australia, approximately 3,000 kilometres from Perth.

In this role, you will support customers to live safely and independently in their own homes and within the community, including our Community Day Centre. Services include Domestic Assistance, Social Support and Respite, with full Community Support Workers also providing Personal Care. Care is delivered in a way that is responsive, respectful and empowering.

This is a permanent full-time position, working 75 hours per fortnight, Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct support with domestic assistance, including cleaning and meal preparation
• Deliver personal care services and assist with medication administration
• Encourage and support customer communication and social engagement
• Complete required documentation accurately and in a timely manner
• Maintain compliance with organisational policies and procedures
• Adhere to Occupational Health and Safety requirements at all times

Key Requirements:

• Current Australian Driver’s Licence (essential)
• Certificate III in Aged Care or Dementia Care (desirable)
• Current First Aid certification (desirable)
• Previous experience working in a community setting (desirable)
• Understanding of aged care documentation and relevant legislation
• Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety principles and safe manual handling
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to engage effectively with customers, families and colleagues
