We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Allied Health Assistant to join our team. Working under the supervision of qualified allied health professionals, you will support therapy and wellness programs that improve mobility, cognitive function, and overall quality of life.

This is a full-time role; the successful candidate must be available to work Monday to Friday within normal business hours. Hours will be discussed with the successful candidate.

The position is based at Juniper Hayloft and works exclusively within the Transition Care Program. Although located on-site, the role is part of our broader Community Allied Health team, which includes more than 50 allied health professionals.

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with therapy programs such as mobility and exercise sessions, activities that build daily living skills, and cognitive stimulation programs
  • Support customers with transfers, walking, seating, and safe use of mobility aids
  • Encourage participation in wellness activities that promote independence and engagement
  • Set up, clean, and maintain therapy equipment and resources
  • Monitor and report changes in customer health or wellbeing to supervising clinicians
  • Maintain accurate documentation and communicate effectively with health professionals, care teams, and families
  • Provide trauma-aware, healing-informed care that respects personal history and ensures dignity

Key Requirements:

  • Certificate III or IV in Allied Health Assistance (or working towards / equivalent qualification)
  • Current First Aid & CPR certificate
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including with people living with dementia
  • Understanding of ageing-related conditions, frailty, falls prevention, and independence support approaches
  • Ability to follow detailed clinical instructions and accurately report changes in a customer’s condition
  • Time management and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and work in a busy environment
  • Empathy, patience, and a professional, flexible approach to supporting older people
  • Physically able to meet the demands of the role (e.g. assisting with mobility, setting up equipment)
