About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Part-Time Chef to join our team at Juniper Hillcrest Aged Care Facility. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking high-quality, nutritious meals that meet the individual dietary needs of our residents. You will also lead and supervise a team of catering staff, ensuring that all meals are delivered to the highest standards of quality, safety, and care.

Rostered Days & Hours Saturday, Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday 08:00 – 16:00

Key Responsibilities:

• Preparing and cooking high-quality, nourishing meals for our residents
• Ensuring adherence to safe food handling and infection control procedures
• Maintaining a clean and hygienic kitchen environment
• Managing stock control, replenishing, and ordering as needed
• Complying with Juniper’s Occupational Safety and Health standards
• Supervising and providing direction to Kitchen Hands

Key Requirements:

• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or higher
• Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Cook/Chef in large-scale meal production
• Experience in production environments
• Basic knowledge of dietary nutrition for elderly residents
• Ability to manage bulk ordering, purchasing, and stock control
• Strong budgeting skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
