About the role

At Jemena, we’re looking for a Connections SME to join our Customer & Commercial team for an 8-month fixed term duration. This is more than just a technical role — it’s a chance to be involved in meaningful operational projects, shape customer journeys, and make a real impact in the energy sector.

This is a hybrid position, with a mix of in-office and WFH days.

Key Responsibilities include

• Lead the delivery of connection services — including new connections, disconnections, meter activations, and alterations — ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks and customer expectations
• Own and drive operational projects from scoping through to implementation, collaborating with digital teams and stakeholders to deliver high-impact outcomes
• Act as the subject matter expert for escalated customer and retailer enquiries, providing timely, empathetic, and effective resolutions
• Champion continuous improvement by identifying process gaps, analysing data, and implementing solutions that enhance efficiency and customer experience
• Support system enhancements and UAT by documenting requirements, coordinating testing, and ensuring seamless integration of new tools and processes

About You

You’re someone who combines deep industry knowledge with a genuine passion for people. You’re proactive, detail-oriented, and thrive in environments where collaboration and continuous improvement are key. You bring a balance of technical expertise and emotional intelligence — and you’re ready to make a real impact. You will also possess the following:

• Energy industry experience is strongly desirable / highly regarded — you understand the regulatory landscape and know how to navigate it
• A strong customer service background — you’re solutions-focused, empathetic, and always put people first
• Proven ability to manage operational projects from discovery to delivery
• Confidence working with systems like SAP ISU/ERP and a knack for process improvement
• A collaborative mindset and a passion for continuous learning and growth
