About the role: 

In this role, you will be a key player in providing environmental support to operational teams on the Waratah Super Battery (WSB) Project. You'll collaborate the teams to ensure on-site compliance with environmental standards, approvals and management plans.

Your responsibilities will include developing environmental documentation (i.e. Erosion and Sediment Control Plans and Field Work Directions), providing assurance on implementation through site inspections, and offering technical support on environmental risks. With your diverse skills, you'll provide field expertise in environment and sustainability matters.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Foster collaborative partnerships with internal and external stakeholders on environmental matters
  • Provide specialist technical Environmental advice and support to internal teams, client and subcontractors
  • Develop and update project Environmental Management Plan documents
  • Undertake Environmental Assurance activities in line with the project Audit and Inspection Plan
  • Partner with Project and Construction team to co-create project-specific environment and sustainability documentation to meet customer/client requirements
  • Support management of environmental incidents and risks

About you: 

You’ll be someone who is looking for career progression, and excited to be part of a dynamic energy transmission project.

Ideally, you’ll have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in environmental work, particularly in construction or utilities management (transmission line experience preferred). Successful candidates will showcase initiative and independence in handling responsibilities. You will also be able to demonstrate experience in coaching and empowering teams to support positive environmental outcomes and being able to work collaboratively to achieve common goals.

You will also be:

  • Confident presenter to internal stakeholders and at risk workshops
  • An effective collaborator and team player
  • Able to manage multiple priorities under pressure
  • Self-motivated and efficient working independently
  • Skilled in coaching and developing maturity within the business
  • Ability to apply environmental standards practically across the business and in the field

Please note that this position involves shift work located in Goulburn, with a schedule of three weeks on-site followed by one week off-site.
