Overview of our role

We’re looking for a collaborative and experienced Lead Business Analyst to play a key role in delivering meaningful change across our energy business. This 12 month fixed-term, hands-on role, will guide projects from concept through to implementation, ensuring our solutions make a real difference for our people and customers.

In this role, you’ll build trusted relationships across the business, work closely with stakeholders to understand complex challenges, and partner with technical teams to create practical, people-focused solutions that support our strategy.

Your strong analytical mindset, curiosity, and problem-solving skills will help shape positive outcomes in a fast-moving environment. Experience within the energy or utilities sector will be highly valued. 

A little about you

  • Lead and support a small team of Business Analysts, providing coaching, direction, and quality oversight across all project activities.
  • Collaborate with business units to uncover challenges, define clear problem statements, and identify practical, high-value solutions.
  • Facilitate engaging workshops that bring together diverse perspectives and translate insights into actionable recommendations.
  • Guide project scoping and prioritisation, balancing business needs, feasibility, and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee the development of business cases and requirements, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and future-state architecture.
  • Build trusted relationships with stakeholders and partners, fostering collaboration, clarity, and confidence throughout project delivery.

Qualifications / certifications & Skills

  • You hold tertiary qualifications in business, finance, or a related field, with broad experience as a Lead Business Analyst, ideally within the energy, gas, or utilities sector.
  • You enjoy working on reform or transformation initiatives, using your curiosity and collaborative approach to help shape meaningful change.
  • You have experience preparing business cases and idea briefs, working closely with stakeholders to build understanding and shared commitment.
  • You take pride in supporting and guiding fellow Business Analysts, helping to strengthen capability and encourage consistent, high-quality work.
  • You build genuine, trusting relationships and communicate thoughtfully with people at all levels, making complex ideas clear and accessible.
  • You bring experience across the full project lifecycle, from discovery and design through to delivery and embedding sustainable outcomes.
