Here's an overview of our role:

Reporting to the GM, Corporate Affairs, the Government Relations and Policy Manager oversees the coordination of relations with Commonwealth, State, and Territory jurisdictions where Jemena operates. This entails supporting Jemena's Corporate Strategy through effective advocacy on pertinent policy matters that impact both Jemena's commercial interests and the wider energy sector. The position will enhance Jemena's presence and reputation within government entities, industry associations, peak organisations, and other key energy stakeholders. Additionally, it involves gathering valuable insights into political, policy, and social priorities, which inform Jemena's advocacy efforts, day-to-day operations, risk management, and commercial strategies.

A little about you:

  • Previous experience working within ministers office, a senior departmental role, or key industry association or a relevant role in the energy sector
  • Sound knowledge of government policy, processes and political landscape relating to the energy industry
  • You have a strong network across Federal and State Governments
  • You've mentored and led a team of experienced advisers
  • Well-developed oral and written communication skills with the ability to influence and engage key stakeholders
  • Knowledge and interest in the energy sector
