As our Customer Development Lead, you’ll be the trusted commercial partner for Non-Routine Customer Initiated Construction (CIC) works—championing customer needs and fostering collaboration across major projects.
What You’ll Be Doing
In this dynamic and people-focused role, you’ll:
- Provide thoughtful commercial and customer support for non-routine electricity works, including major Data Centre connections, large customer loads, and embedded generation projects.
- Partner closely with key customers to guide and support large-scale, customer-initiated initiatives on the JEN network.
- Support contract management and ensure clarity and fairness in pricing, scopes, and agreements.
- Lead commercial reviews with a keen eye for detail and a collaborative spirit.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of connection processes, aligning with customer expectations, regulatory standards, and network goals.
- Stay ahead of regulatory and government-driven changes, ensuring smooth transitions and proactive communication.
Who You’ll Work With
You’ll collaborate with major customers, internal delivery teams, and external stakeholders—bringing people together to deliver complex, high-impact energy solutions.
What You’ll Bring
- A confident understanding of SAP and familiarity with the JEN portal.
- End-to-end knowledge of CIC and Embedded Generation (EG) connection processes.
- Experience supporting complex electricity projects (e.g., >6 MVA connections, >1 MVA EG).
- Exceptional relationship-building and negotiation skills.
- A track record of navigating layered regulatory environments with grace and precision.
- Clear, empathetic communication and influencing abilities.
- A proactive mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
- Commercial acumen and experience in contract negotiation support.
