About the role

This newly created role is pivotal to the future of our electricity network. As a Network Operations Specialist (Control Room), you’ll be the face of the Control Room – bridging operations with projects, processes, and cutting-edge technologies like DERMS and Volt-VAR Control. You’ll help integrate renewables, refine systems, and ensure grid stability without the shift work. This role will be based in our Melbourne CBD office, with hybrid working options available once the successful candidate is up to speed.

Key Responsibilities include

  • Act as the Control Room interface for projects, initiatives, and process improvements
  • Support the integration of advanced technologies and new assets into Network Operations
  • Develop and maintain procedures and compliance documentation
  • Analyse real-time data to ensure grid reliability and operational excellence
  • Support Network reliability as the primary Control Room liaison
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve operational challenges
  • Champion innovation and continuous improvement within the Control Room environment

About You

You’re a seasoned professional with control room exposure and a passion for shaping the future of electricity operations. You thrive on solving complex challenges, influencing change, and leveraging your technical know-how to integrate new technologies and processes that keep our network reliable and innovative. You will also possess the following:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Control Room, SCADA or Engineering environment (essential)
  • Advanced Diploma in ESI or tertiary qualification in Engineering/Power Systems
  • Strong understanding of real-time operations and network planning
  • Experience with DERMS, CER, and future network technologies highly regarded
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and problem-solving skills
