About the role:
We’re seeking to engage a Portfolio Manager for our Customer & Energy Solutions (C&ES) team. You will be an influential leader who works closely with business, our Digital PMO and digital stakeholders delivering value through the Customer & Energy Solutions portfolio.
Key accountability is the overall management of the of projects and programs within the CE&S portfolio, with support of appropriate governance frameworks, tools and forums. This includes the succesful execution of a multi-year program of work, across multiple business processes and technology platforms.
Focusing on astute management of Jemena digital investments, this role will be tasked with ensuring disciplined delivery practices, proactive risk/issue management and timely reporting, from our delivery team. In addition this role will be responsible for uplifting delivery capability, ensuring quality resourcing, utilisation of fit for purpose delivery methodologies., and delivering quality outcomes through the application of governance and assurance practices.
Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Leading portfolio planning activities and supporting business planning/regulatory planning activities as required.
- Being responsible for the overall delivery of projects/programs/initiatives within the C & ES digital portfolio, from Idea to Close phase.
- Providing leadership across the assigned Delivery resources for the C&ES digital Portfolio.
- Engaging, motivating, and building trust with your team of delivery professionals with a focus on uplifting capability and compliance with Jemena’s Digital Delivery Methodology.
- Participating in the evaluation and selection of contingent workforce, ensuring suitably skilled resources are engaged to deliver projects.
- Overseeing portfolio financial management – estimating, forecasting, and actively controlling costs to ensure the Portfolio is managed to budget, with support from Finance business partner and in alignment with Jemena’s Digital Delivery Framework requirements.
- Proactively overseeing risks, issues, and dependencies across the portfolio, leveraging frameworks and tools provided by Jemena’s Digital Delivery Framework and ensuring prompt identification, analysis, and assessment of impact is communicated to the Steering Committee and relevant project stakeholders.
- Ensuring robust project change request discipline and utilizing tools to identify and manage change requests with due rigor and in accordance with delivery processes.
- Partnering with Portfolio Project Managers to support and guide the creation of idea briefs, with clear articulation of business problem/opportunity, high-level requirements, and a defined scope, leveraging Project Services and Architecture resources including Business Analysts, PMs, and Solution architects.
- Managing delivery processes.
- Quality assuring the development of business cases and project management plans for projects, per the requirements of Jemena’s Technology Delivery Management framework.
- Fostering strong stakeholder engagement and providing transparent and clear communication to stakeholder groups throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensuring project test strategies provide for high quality and stable solutions, and project resource plans account for suitably skilled resources to execute test strategy successfully. Test plans are clearly linked to requirements, and test execution is managed in the appropriate system with relevant reports produced at key testing milestones and presented to stakeholders and relevant forums for sign-off.
About you:
To be selected for the shortlist your profile will demonstrate extensive experience managing multi-million-dollar, enterprise technology projects leveraging agile, waterfall or hybrid methodologies. Along side experience delivering IT projects in a regulated industry.

- Demonstrated experience in remediating troubled projects – enabling recovery
- Exposure to designing and implementing short- and long-term resourcing and delivery plans to ensure delivery capacity and capabilities support the required delivery objectives of the business.
- Proven experience or demonstrated capability in leading IT transformational initiatives in complex, dynamic environments
- Project Management accreditation (Agile, PMI, CPPM (AIPM) or Prince2) or equivalent years industry experience
