Overview of our role

Reporting to the Project Engineering and Program Delivery Manager.

The Data Centre Assets Team Leader plays a supportive and collaborative leadership role across the engineering specialists who plan, develop, and nurture the primary and distribution asset standards, specifications, and scopes of work that enable high‑capacity electricity supplies for data centre customers.

This role helps ensure Jemena’s asset infrastructure, technical standards, and engineering deliverables continue to evolve in a thoughtful and future‑focused way, enabling the organisation to meet rapid growth in the data centre sector. It does so by cultivating high‑quality engineering outcomes, strengthening risk‑aware decision‑making, and fostering strong, trusting relationships across internal teams and external partners. 

A little about you

  • Extensive experience in electricity networks, primary or distribution assets, or high‑voltage engineering.
  • Experience leading engineers or technical specialists.
  • Strong background in standards development, asset planning, or substation / HV design.
  • Experience in risk assessment, technical governance, and design assurance.
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships with delivery teams, vendors, and external stakeholders. 

Qualifications / certifications & Skills

  • Professional engineering background (Electrical Engineering preferred).
  • Deep knowledge of HV/LV distribution, primary plant systems, and power systems engineering.
  • Familiarity with emerging trends in data centre loads, power density challenges, and hyperscale customer needs.
  • Understanding of regulatory, safety, and asset management frameworks.
