About the role 

At Jemena, our integration platforms quietly power services people rely on every day. As a Senior Integration Engineer, you’ll help design, build and run these platforms across AWS cloud and on-prem environments, balancing reliability, security and long-term sustainability in a highly regulated energy landscape. 

This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who enjoys collaborating, mentoring, and shaping solutions end-to-end — from design through to operation — while contributing to platform strategy and continuous improvement.

What you’ll be doing

• Design, build and operate integration solutions including APIs, event-driven integrations, data streaming and file transfers
• Work closely with delivery teams to ensure solutions are robust, compliant, and operationally sustainable
• Contribute to platform evolution by improving reliability, performance, security and cost efficiency
• Advocate for automation, self-service and better developer experience
• Partner with senior engineers and platform leaders to shape technical roadmaps
• Provide thoughtful technical guidance and act as an escalation point for complex platform issues
• Participate in a shared on-call roster, with a strong focus on prevention, learning and continuous improvement 

What you’ll bring

• Strong experience designing and operating integration platforms in complex environments
• Deep knowledge of modern integration technologies (APIs, events, data streaming) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure)
• Experience with building and scaling API gateway and enterprise service bus systems
• Expertise in the IBM webMethods Integration platform stack
• Experience in delivering secure, reliable and highly available systems
• Familiarity with modern engineering practices including CI/CD, automated testing and Infrastructure as Code
• Experience working with AWS and/or Azure, and hybrid cloud or on-prem platforms
• A track record of driving system and process improvement in your previous roles
• A collaborative approach, with confidence contributing ideas and influencing outcomes

Nice to have

• Experience in regulated or safety-critical industries (energy, utilities, finance, etc.)
• Involvement in setting engineering standards, governance or platform strategy
• Interest in mentoring, knowledge-sharing and continuous improvement
• Exposure to Docker, Kubernetes or similar container technologies 

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
