As part of the traineeship, you will complete an Advanced Diploma of ESI – Power Systems.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Learn to safely plan, coordinate, and monitor electricity network operations to support reliability and public safety
- Train on core Control Room systems including SCADA, ADMS, GIS, and other operational technologies
- Work closely with internal teams, field crews, and external stakeholders to support incident response and operational decision-making
- Follow detailed procedures, safety requirements, and operational protocols while building confidence to make clear, informed decisions
- Track progress against a formal training program, actively seeking feedback and learning opportunities to build technical and professional capability
What We’re Looking For
This is an exciting time for our industry, and we’re looking for someone who is committed, curious, and eager to learn.
For the majority of the traineeship, you’ll work a standard office-based week with flexibility, allowing you to focus on learning and development. Over time, you’ll progressively build toward the requirements of the shift-based role, including working 12-hour shifts as part of a 24/7 operations environment.
To be successful in this role, you’ll have:
