Overview of our role

We’re looking for a collaborative and experienced Senior Business Analyst to join our team, supporting both business transformation and enhancements to existing systems (brownfield). In this role, you’ll play a key part in delivering meaningful outcomes by coordinating and contributing to a defined scope of work—either as part of a project team or within a broader program of work.

You’ll work closely with people across the business to understand their needs, gather insights, and build strong relationships that support shared success. You may also provide guidance and mentorship to other Business Analysts within the team, helping to foster growth and confidence while contributing to operational excellence.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys seeing the bigger picture while also diving into the detail. You’ll be responsible for identifying opportunities to improve processes, conducting gap and option analyses, and shaping high-level business cases that influence change.

Your expertise in project delivery methods—such as Agile and Scrum—will help us deliver thoughtfully designed and user-focused solutions, while maintaining architectural integrity and ensuring a seamless experience for our customers.

Your responsibilities will include: 

This position will be required to apply expertise in methodologies (such as Agile and Scrum) to enhance project delivery, collaborating closely with stakeholders to define business problems, elicit business and technical requirements and producing set of end-to-end customer journey maps to align with future state capabilities. The role plays a key part in ensuring that projects are aligned with organisational strategies and that the delivery of outcomes contributes meaningful value to the business. 

About you: 

  • Confident communicator with strong stakeholder engagement skills, including working closely with senior leaders and cross-functional teams
  • Experienced in both strategic planning and hands-on requirements gathering across medium to large-scale projects
  • Background in both brownfield initiatives and new business transformation
  • Proven ability to lead business analysis activities early in the project lifecycle, aligning insights with broader business goals
  • Comfortable working across both Agile and traditional methodologies, with strengths in feature development and customer journey mapping
  • Collaborative and organised, able to support task prioritisation, resource planning and timely project delivery
  • Passionate about building capability—offering guidance and mentoring to business analysts to support team growth and high standards

This is a hybrid role working from our Greystanes depot 80% and the rest can be working from home.

Qualifications / certifications & Skills

  • Tertiary qualification in IT, Business, Commerce, Project Management or a related field, with 5+ years’ experience as a Business Analyst
  • Good understanding of how organisations work, ideally with exposure to areas like customer innovation, utility metering, revenue, asset management or construction
  • Skilled in using business analysis tools and techniques, including process mapping, writing requirements, and identifying and tracking benefits
  • Familiar with Service Design tools like market research, business model canvas and prototyping—hands-on experience is a bonus
