Overview of our role

Help shape how data is used across Jemena by building trusted reporting and analytics solutions that support informed decision-making across the business.

As a Power BI Engineer, you'll work with Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, Databricks and SAP BW/HANA to deliver secure, scalable and meaningful reporting solutions. Partnering with business stakeholders, data engineers and architects, you'll create high-quality dashboards, semantic models and insights that help teams make better decisions every day.

This role offers a blend of report development, platform administration, governance and continuous improvement, giving you the opportunity to influence how our enterprise analytics platform evolves.

What You'll Bring

  • BI solution development, including complex DAX, data modelling and report design.
  • Practical experience administering and supporting Power BI Service and Microsoft Fabric workspaces, capacities, gateways, deployment pipelines and access controls.
  • Experience managing production reporting services, including incident resolution, refresh failures, capacity and performance issues, and user support.
  • Experience integrating and modelling data from multiple enterprise sources, and working with data engineering teams to deliver trusted datasets.
  • Experience translating business requirements into scalable reporting and analytics solutions, with strong stakeholder communication and documentation skills.
  • Experience establishing development standards, governance controls, release practices and reusable reporting assets.

Qualifications / Certifications & Experience

  • Advanced knowledge of Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service, including DAX, Power Query, semantic models, dataflows, row-level security and performance optimisation.
  • Hands-on knowledge of Microsoft Fabric, including workspaces, lakehouses, warehouses, pipelines, monitoring, security and capacity management.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL, dimensional modelling, star schema design and analytics engineering.
  • Knowledge of SAP BW/HANA connectivity and reporting integration patterns.
  • Knowledge of enterprise data connectors, gateways, APIs, file-based sources, relational databases, SharePoint and cloud data services.
  • Knowledge of Databricks, dbt, PySpark, Snowflake or Azure Data Factory is desirable and considered an advantage.
  • Knowledge of DevOps, source control, testing and controlled promotion processes across development, test and production environments.
