Overview of our role

As the Technical Analyst, you'll bring specialised expertise to support our Gas Markets, supporting the development and continuous improvement of digital platforms, applications, and workflows. Your role will maintain system integrity, reliability, and scalability through thoughtful analysis, automation, and digital engineering practices.

With strengths in data modelling, systems integration, scripting, and diagnostics, the Technical Analyst helps identify and resolve technical issues, improve workflows, and support informed, data‑driven decisions. So your close collaboration with engineers, analysts, digital teams, and external partners, will ensure solutions are aligned with business needs and regulatory requirements.

You will also contribute and support the the stability of critical applications through participation in a rotational on‑call model, supporting 24x7 systems in line with Policies and service level expectations.

A little about you

  • Experience managing multiple technical environments across the software lifecycle, ensuring consistency and stability.
  • Experience debugging Powershell scripts and identifying problems in the scripts and run testing.
  • Ability to monitor and support SLAs, with a focus on meeting targets and addressing risks early.
  • Hands-on experience improving ITIL processes to enhance service reliability and flow.
  • Background in supporting critical systems, including on-call, issue resolution, and minimising disruption.
  • Collaborative approach to working with vendors and stakeholders to resolve issues and align services.
  • Experience designing scalable solutions that improve business processes and platform performance.

Qualifications / certifications & Skills

  • Tertiary qualification in IT, Business, or equivalent experience, with practical application across technical environments.
  • Solid understanding of application lifecycle management, integrations, and ITIL‑aligned support practices.
  • Working knowledge of cloud platforms, databases, application servers, and core networking fundamentals.
  • Familiarity with APIs, integration tools, and automation or scripting to support deployment and monitoring.
  • Strong analytical capability, with a thoughtful approach to problem‑solving, performance monitoring, and decision support.
  • Collaborative approach to governance, change practices, documentation, and continuous improvement, with the ability to guide technical outcomes.
