About the role

Join our dynamic team as a Human Resource Business Partner, focussing on Depots located in Lilydale, Beaconsfield and various locations across Gippsland, you'll play a pivotal role in delivering impactful HR solutions aligned with our People Strategy and HR Plan.

You'll partner closely with functional leaders to drive key initiatives, provide expert advice, and support a range of HR programs and projects. From coaching managers to implementing strategic HR practices, your influence will shape a high-performing, people-focused culture. Key Responsibilities include

  • Assisting in implementing workforce plans to address future needs, skill gaps, and supply-demand challenges
  • Coordinating HR reporting, policies, and procedures to ensure smooth business operations
  • Supporting change initiatives aligned with the organisation’s vision, values, and strategy
  • Promoting and demonstrating organisational behaviours to foster a positive workplace culture
  • Providing coaching and leadership support to managers and employees across departments
  • Building strong relationships while offering professional HR advice and guidance
  • Facilitating performance and salary review processes and supporting talent management strategies
  • Organising and executing HR projects, including scoping, planning, and stakeholder communication
  • Collaborating with the broader HR team to drive consistency and contribute to strategic goals

About You

You are a seasoned HR professional with broad generalist expertise, ideally including time working with a unionised workforce in a construction or engineering context. Your profile will demonstrate your passion for driving strategic people outcomes. With strong leadership, coaching, and relationship-building skills, you thrive in complex environments and bring a commercial mindset to every challenge.

  • Demonstrating deep knowledge of Australian employment legislation and industrial relations
  • Bringing experience in HR business partnering within large, multi-site organisations
  • Leading change and delivering people strategies aligned with business goals
  • Coaching and empowering leaders and teams to drive performance
  • Applying strong analytical, negotiation, and influencing skills
  • Managing HR projects with precision and strategic focus
  • Holding tertiary qualifications in HR or a related discipline

This role requires an on site presence across the depots in Lilydale, South East Melbourne and Gippsland. Regular overnight stays in regional centres such as Traralgon, Sale and Bairnsdale will be required and a company vehicle will be provided.
