About the role:
We have an opportunity available for a Regulatory Modelling Senior Analyst to join us at Jemena where you will be responsible to provide expert financial and regulatory modelling analysis on matters relating to revenue resets, regulatory consultations and annual budgets.
This role will be responsible for undertaking independent analysis using the existing regulatory modelling framework, and contribute to:
- Maintaining, developing and applying regulatory and financial models, including assuring the quality of modelling inputs
- Preparing requisite datasets and information for submission to the regulator and for undertaking economic and financial analysis
- Researching and assessing issues that influence regulatory modelling and strategy
- Developing option analysis to evaluate various regulatory and financial strategies
- Undertaking economic benchmarking analysis to compare cost efficiency of network businesses
- Undertaking revenue forecasting for annual budgets and financial evaluation of business cases and
- Preparing board papers, presentations, briefing notes and memos for board’s approval.
You will be tertiary qualified in a relevant disciple (Finance, Economics or Mathematics) with professional experience in financial valuation modelling and preferably familiar with regulation of the utilities.
With advanced MS Excel skills and willingness to adopt Jemena’s best practice modelling, you will also be able to demonstrate your ability to review business cases and other key documents and have input into optimising financial outcomes.
With the ability to manage and work with a team of professionals, you will be someone who is keen to learn new things and have the ability to work under pressure while being able to develop and maintain excel based regulatory financial/valuation models for regulatory submissions for electricity and gas businesses.
Knowledge and experience in the energy / utilities industry is preferred but not necessary.
