About Us

We are proudly part of a privately owned global group of insurance and online comparison related businesses, with approximately 50 offices and 10,000 employees. In Australia, the Group includes trusted and well-known brands Budget Direct, Ozicare, Chasing Cars, iSelect and Compare the Market. In late 2024, iSelect and Compare the Market formed a new Aggregation business within the group and now support millions of Australians to compare and buy their personal finance and household products such as insurance, energy, and loans.

The Opportunity

With the joining of forces of Compare the Market and iSelect, our team is growing! As our Digital PR Advisor you’ll be working behind the scenes of two of Australia’s most recognisable brands, helping us get noticed in the media for all the right reasons.

If you love writing, storytelling, spotting trends, and keeping up with what’s making news (or should be), this is your chance to turn that into a real career. You’ll get the chance to:

  • Create engaging content - like press releases, articles and data-driven stories that gets picked up by top media outlets
  • Work closely with journalists, media contacts, external agencies and internal teams to help plan and deliver campaigns that are accurate, on time, and get results
  • Grow your SEO skills - you’ll play an important role in contributing to our broader link building strategy in support of our SEO program
  • Stay on top of the news (locally and globally) to find opportunities for us to join the conversation
  • Dig into data and research to find interesting angles for campaigns and make sure our stories are accurate and insightful
  • Track how our content performs in the media and help us find new ways to grow awareness and engagement
  • Learn and grow on the job - we’ll support your development with tools, feedback and opportunities to level up your skills

The Benefits

At Compare the Market and iSelect we offer a dynamic and collaborative work environment where your talents will be recognised and rewarded. You’ll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact and contribute to our continued success, we also provide:

  • Vibrant and social community who have annual celebrations, family fun days and regular events
  • Enjoy flexible work arrangements, including the option of one day working from home each week or a 9-day fortnight
  • Enjoy additional leave days – ‘ME’ leave and ‘Volunteer Day’ leave
  • Employee discounts on Car and Home Insurance
  • Income protection insurance provided to support you in the event of non-work-related illness or injury

About You

This is an entry level role that would suit a recent graduate with a degree in journalism, communications, PR or marketing. Ideally you’ll have around 12 months of experience as well - perhaps you've interned at a media outlet, written for a student paper, or done some casual work with an online news site. You’re also:

  • Super energetic, driven and have a “let’s do this” attitude
  • Organised and confident juggling a few projects at once without dropping the ball. You don’t sit around waiting to be told what to do - you take the lead, follow up, and get stuff done
  • Focussed on the detail so you can easily comb through digital PR material and identify inconsistencies
  • Bonus points if you’ve had some experience working with people and building relationships - that’s a big part of this role
