Assistant Venue Manager

This role is based in Mount Isa, QLD, offering a very strong remuneration package of $85-95,000 including accommodation.

The Isa & Red Earth Hotels are on the lookout for a senior and experienced hospitality Manager to join our thriving, multi-outlet venues as an Assistant Venue Manager. This is an exceptional opportunity to take on a vital leadership position, working in close collaboration with our General Manager to shape the guest experience and contribute meaningfully to one of Queensland’s most exciting hospitality destinations.

What You’ll Do:

• Lead the development and delivery of new and exciting guest experience initiatives and activities to drive business growth.
• Actively engaging with the local community to strengthen relationships and build our venue’s presence.
• Coordinating and overseeing entertainment schedules, ensuring all acts and performances meet venue standards.
• Support the Venue Manager in overseeing daily operations, ensuring the highest standards of service in our bar, restaurant, and accommodation.
• Inspire, mentor and develop your team, driving a positive and productive culture focused on excellence, customer service, and continuous improvement.
• Support the recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing training of frontline staff to ensure an exceptional delivery of customer service.
• Maintaining strict stock control and effective staff rostering, while identifying training needs to improve business operations.
• Monitoring and managing labour costs during shifts to ensure alignment with budgets and KPI’s.
• Assist in ensuring the venue operates in a safe and compliant manner, adhering to safety guidelines, licensing laws, and all regulatory requirements.
• Take charge of venue operations in the absence of the General Manager.

Mandatory Qualifications:

• RMLV (Responsible Management of Licensed Venues): Required to ensure compliance with licensing regulations.
• Approved Manager’s License: Necessary for managing licensed areas and ensuring legal operation.
• RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol): Essential for serving alcohol responsibly and adhering to legal requirements.
• RSG (Responsible Service of Gambling): Required to oversee gambling activities in a responsible manner.
• CLO (Customer Liaison Officer) Certification: Important for handling customer inquiries and complaints effectively, especially in a licensed venue.
• Gaming Nomination & License: Required to legally manage and oversee gaming operations within the venue, ensuring compliance with state regulations and responsible gambling practices.
