At Investa we’re looking for a Group Tax Compliance Manager who will be responsible for managing tax risks for the Group through accurate and timely tax compliance and reporting, together with ensuring the Group maintains and further develops strong governance in relation to tax.
Responsibilities include:  

  • Ownership and management of the Group’s tax compliance obligations, ensuring they are completed accurately and within strict timeframes. 
  • Ownership of the Group’s tax accounting and reporting obligations, with a significant focus on trust structures. This will include review of tax forecasting, quarterly/ half year / year-end tax and distribution calculations, tax provisions  and disclosure notes in the financial reports;
  • Responding to Revenue authority queries; 
  • Development and maintenance of tax process documentation; 
  • Management of relationships with external tax advisers and management of outsourced service providers; 
  • Maintain and develop tax governance through improved operational processes (best practice), development of tax systems and automation, and minimisation of tax risks.
  • Review capital gains tax calculations, annual MIT testing and ensuring effective tax loss utilisation, including loss testing  
  • Management of AIIR, TPAR, FBT and FIRB tax reporting obligations 

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Commerce/Accounting/Tax Law;
  • Relevant post-graduate qualification (CA, CPA or Masters of Tax).

Experience & Skills:

  • Strong trust tax experience (including AMIT, MIT, distribution resolutions, WHT) gained at Big 4 or entities with complex trust structures,
  • Corporate tax experience (including income tax, tax provisions, GST, FBT)
  • Experience in managing tax compliance deadlines for a large volume of entities,
  • Experience with Thomson Reuters Onesource desirable,
  • Strong time management ability and the ability to work under pressure with multiple competing deadlines,
  • Able to operate with minimal supervision,
  • Detail-oriented, efficient and organised,
  • Strong communication skills to engage stakeholders at different levels,
  • Understanding of transfer pricing principles,
  • Analytical and investigation skills.
