About The Role

At Investa we have an exciting newly created role that sits in Marketing. We’re seeking an experienced, forward thinking Bid Manager to lead, implement and drive the management and support of bids as well as developing and rolling out bid training and presentation skills training to the business.
As our new Bid Manager, you will have full autonomy building the division, putting systems and best practice in place to ensure successful delivery.  Reporting and partnering with the General Manager, Marketing & Communications, this role will lead our Bids and Pursuits strategy supporting the business to drive successful outcomes and win rates by applying best bid methodologies to opportunities and existing processes. 
Key Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Lead the pursuit and bid support needs of Investa, working with Business Line Leaders to determine pipeline priorities
  • Full accountability for the bid management process to achieve sophisticated, consistent and highly focused bids
  • Develop ‘lead-up’ contact strategy with the client to help develop offering and positioning ahead of time – co-ordinate, consult on and facilitate win strategies
  • Identify win themes, value propositions, lead discussion, create compelling messages, then guide teams to execute the strategy, liaising with writers and reviewers to embed a winning strategy in the offer
  • Collaborating with other parts of the business e.g. Research, ESG and co-ordinating their participation
  • Facilitate all pitch meetings, timelines, deadlines
  • Project manage the creative process / innovations in delivery
  • Facilitate rehearsals
  • Conduct debriefings and communicate results
  • Develop Best Practice processes for ‘Investa Bid
  • Develop and rollout Bid Presentation Training workshops

Successful Person

  • Required: Degree qualifications in Commerce / Business or Marketing (or other related degree)
  • Experience as Bid / Pursuits / Business Development Manager with 7+ years of experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Highly organised, sales and influencing skills
  • Strong bidding track record in Professional Services, Real Estate, Construction, Engineering environment
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to guide and shape compelling pursuit and win strategies and apply these in a bidding environment
  • Professional writing, editing and proofing skills, including persuasive writing techniques
  • Demonstrable track record in relationship-building and influencing change
  • An understanding of the property industry, markets, clients and competitors to provide informed bid support
