The Opportunity
As the Health & Safety Business Partner, you’ll play a key role in shaping outcomes of our projects right from the start. This is your chance to influence how we design and plan our work, embedding best practice, minimising and preventing Health & Safety risks.
You’ll work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders, including project managers, engineers, designers, and customers, to identify health and safety risks and opportunities and translate them into practical, effective solutions. Your advice and expertise will guide project decisions, ensuring we deliver outcomes that protect the safety and wellbeing of our people, the community and the environment.
Main responsibilities include:
- Building Health & Safety capability in pre-construction phase with a focus on contemporary thinking, enhancing Health and Safety performance
- Assist in shaping Health and Safety strategy for high risk water infrastructure projects in concept and design phase, minimising and mitigating safety risks
- Identify and drive safety initiatives, innovations, and technology to lead industry best practice and enhance productivity outcomes
- Conduct regular risk management reviews and risk workshops with a focus on critical risks and controls
Key Selection Criteria:
- Experience working in pre-delivery and safety in design
- Tertiary qualified in Work Health Safety, or related discipline (or equivalent experience)
- Experience in construction / utility safety management, with an understanding of construction processes, equipment, and hazards
- High levels of agility and problem solving to drive WHS improvement
- Leadership, coaching and mentoring skills coupled with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
