The Opportunity

Technology will play an important role in the future of our business. The Interflow IT team is looking for an IT Business Partner to help us drive efficiency and innovation in how we operate, how our people work, and how Interflow delivers to its customers.

IT Business Partners are trusted partners and advisors to the business. As one of two IT Business Partners, most of your focus will be on the operational (field) and delivery side of the business (the other partner being more corporate-focused). This means you’ll work closely with operational business leaders in our construction delivery teams to understand their objectives – identifying opportunities for digitalisation, automation, and leveraging technology to standardise and step-change how we operate.

You’ll translate business needs into practical IT solutions – documenting requirements, leading evaluations, and making recommendations. You’ll also stay abreast of emerging technologies, continually assessing their potential application and benefits, and play a part in shaping enterprise architecture, ensuring our platforms remain future-ready.

Operationally, you’ll manage upgrades, minor works, and enhancements for the systems you oversee, and will provide limited 2^nd / 3^rd level support as required (we do have a separate a 1^st level service desk). You’ll also manage vendor relationships, fostering positive relationships and ensuring our vendors are aligned as trusted partners.

You will bring:

• 3+ years’ experience in an IT business partnering or similar role, aligning IT initiatives and emerging technologies with business strategy, ideally within a blue-collar industry (such as construction, transport and logistics, utilities, councils, or other field-based organisations)
• A track record of identifying and driving technology initiatives that step-change operational outcomes and efficiency – both applications and field / operational technologies such as CCTV and telematics (IT & OT)
• Experience with the selection and management of enterprise systems (such as project management, asset management, telematics, ERP, CRM and other backend systems), mobile apps, and advanced technologies such as AI and automation
• Financial and commercial acumen (managing budget and contractual agreements)
• Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills (from senior management to grass roots level)
