Hotel Services - Servery/Kitchen Assistant

Join a fast‑paced commercial kitchen environment where you’ll build hands‑on skills in food preparation, plating, and kitchen operations. Working with our Chef Manager and Hotel Services Team, you’ll help deliver high‑quality meals that make a real difference in residents’ daily lives.

About the Role

• Assist with food prep, plating, and meal service in a commercial kitchen.
• Support dietary needs, including texture‑modified and allergen‑aware meals.
• Maintain high standards of kitchen and dining cleanliness.
• Set up and reset dining rooms and equipment for each service.
• Follow food safety and WHS procedures.
• Work as part of a supportive, fast‑moving team.

This role is a physical & fast paced with a lot of variety, you will do a lot of bending, squatting, lifting and pushing items to carry out your daily tasks safely. It is important you can perform these tasks without risk of injury to yourself, your colleagues and our residents.

About You

• Hospitality or commercial kitchen experience (or a strong interest in developing these skills).
• Students completing or planning Commercial Cookery studies who want to build practical, hands‑on skills that directly support their training.
• Strong communication, initiative, and attention to detail skills.
• Reliable, adaptable team players who thrive in a busy kitchen environment and have the availability to support a variety of shifts.

NOT suitable for candidates studying personal care or nursing, as training and development focus exclusively on commercial cookery and kitchen operations.
