About the Job
At Infinite Aged Care, our Hospitality Assistants play a key role in meeting our residents’ daily needs. Our kitchens and cafes all report to our Head Chef who juggles several food services across our care home every day and values hard working, dedicated and compassionate employees to be the face of the hospitality operations! This role will see you carrying out tasks at a high standard & consistent way for all food preparation and service, in room service, catering support for events and ensuring that the dining areas are clean, safe and welcoming for when our residents come to share a meal or a cuppa!! A typical day in this role includes.
- Make each dining experience unforgettable and enjoyable for our elderly residents.
- Excellent safety awareness – adhering to food hygiene standards, compliance & removal hazards
- Support our resident food services across up to 6 services per day, including room service
- Clean kitchen and dining room areas, including all related equipment ready for the next service
- Support the Chefs prepare dining area for events, family gathering and/or special occasions
- Prepare all condiments, food service equipment, stock preparation and trip/spill removal associated with offering with upholding a high standard of kitchen and dining operations.
- Support with preparing small food and drink items (could be from the cafe operations) as required.
This role is a fast paced, physical role whereby you will do a lot of bending, squatting, lifting and pushing items to carry out your daily tasks safely. It is important you can perform these tasks without risk of injury to yourself, your colleagues and our residents.

- Strong workplace safety, ability to follow set procedures and be a good communicator to ask questions to learn quickly how the kitchen operates.
- Support the multiple food services per day, ensuring all food hygiene procedures are followed at all times. Bring your genuine care and compassion to mealtimes.
- Be proactive to replenish food, drink, condiment, servery and other items essential to the smooth dining experiences for both residents and staff.
- Ability to demonstrate strong time management (e.g. arrive early to get ready for your shift start time), be prepared, wear your uniform with pride and offer to help your colleagues that show enthusiasm and a can-do-attitude.
- Support residents around the dining halls and ensure a hazard free environment.
- Ability to problem solve, work with limited supervision and ‘think on your feet’.
- Excellent communication, customer service, can-do-attitude & interpersonal skills
