The Opportunity

At Infinite Care, we believe every day should be full of connection, enjoyment, and a sense of community. Our Café Assistant/ Barista plays an important role in creating that experience by providing residents, their families, and visitors with warm, friendly, and personalised café service.

 We have a permanent full-time (Monday to Friday 08:00am – 04:00pm) opportunity available at our Knoxfield care home where you’ll be part of a welcoming team that makes a genuine difference in residents’ daily lives.

  • Preparing and serving barista coffee, tea, and other beverages with a smile.
  • Offering light meals and snacks, considering dietary needs and personal preferences.
  • Assisting residents with mobility challenges to enjoy café services or table service.
  • Supporting special events, celebrations, and themed activities in the café.
  • Cleaning of kitchen, service areas and dining area around the coffee shop.
  • Work with the Chef Manager to talk through supply of items needed to run the cafe properly
  • Ensure the cafe area is free any workplace hazards, trips, slips or other items that may cause a safety issue.
  • Contributing to a positive team culture and supporting resident well-being.
  • Assist in / provide back up support in dining room service when required.

This role is a physical role whereby you will do a lot of bending, squatting, lifting and pushing items to carry out your daily tasks safely. It is important you can perform these tasks without risk of injury to yourself, your colleagues and our residents.

 About You

At Infinite Aged Care, we hire on attitude and aptitude, so experience in the aged care sector is not necessary. Whilst formal qualifications such as a cert II in hospitality would be highly regarded, it is more important that you have a friendly disposition, a willingness to help others and demonstrated experience in a customer service or a hospitality environment such as retail, coffee shop, bar, or restaurant.

In addition to this it is essential that you have:

  • Demonstrated barista cafe hospitality experience with a passion for providing a friendly customer service environment.
  • Strong workplace safety attitude, behaviours and "eye" for removing all hazards.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, be a self-starter, confidence and communicates very well with others especially the kitchen staff.
  • Ability to problem solve, ‘think on your feet’, show initiative to perform at a high standard
  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills and the ability to make people feel welcomed
  • Hard Working, flexible with good availability to cover shifts.
