As the new Electro-mechanical technician, you will be responsible not just for the trade of your focus, but you will be paired up and learning from a cross-functional Maintenance team so that you can expand your knowledge in either Mechanical or Electrical. You will be working within a dynamic team that cross-trains and supports the learning and development in both trades.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot, repair, maintain and install various production equipment across two locations (both in Scarborough)
Assess the performance of the equipment to ensure that they are operating effectively. Test and Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems to repair and optimize performance.
Carry out corrective and preventive maintenance on the existing electrical, mechanical systems to keep them operating at optimum capacity
You will check for any faulty components in the machinery including, but not limited to motors, switches, relays and sensing devices.
Install and upgrade equipment. You will set up new electromechanical equipment or upgrade existing equipment with new parts or hardware to increase efficiency.
Order parts and manage inventory. You will be responsible for ordering new tools, components, equipment, and key spare parts as needed.
You will maintain accurate records in the maintenance system for each completed task. Additionally, you will update the stock records for critical parts and key spares as you order, install or receive, thus maintaining accurate inventory levels in the system.
Qualifications and Experience:
You have a College Diploma from a technical program in industrial maintenance, electrical or mechanical technology, or any related field.
Received your C of Q in Industrial Electrician 442A or Industrial Mechanic Millwright 433A
Hands-on experience with various equipment and tools. Ability to troubleshoot, install, repair or maintain machinery.
You are capable of reading and understanding parts diagrams and electrical schematics and can use this information to diagnose and repair machinery.
Previous experience (2+ years) with repair equipment such as CNC machines, vacuum forming machines, vacuum pumps, pneumatic die cutters, and typical machine Shop equipment.
Self Starter- working in a small team or on your own without minimal supervision. And applying yourself to opportunities and positive changes that you can make within the facility.
Computer Savvy – Understanding of basic applications such as email for communication and navigating task management maintenance programs
