Ian Martin Workforce is working with an International and Specialty Consulting Engineering firm that is an expert in Engineering Modeling and Analysis, Climate and Environmental Engineering, Wind Engineering, Meteorology, Sustainability, and Building Sciences. We are actively looking to hire a Global Practice Area Leader - Climate Change for their new technical practice area focusing on climate change.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
Lead and coordinate interdisciplinary teams to deliver solutions to climate change-related challenges.
Support VP's with the development of climate change strategies to enable the pursuit of new project opportunities in their sectors of focus and, where deemed necessary, lead the technical development of tools and/or services to support the selected strategies.
Lead the development of responses to Climate Change related proposal opportunities.
Lead and mentor continuous development of internal team’s technical skills through refinement of methodologies and ongoing research into codes, programs, standards, and technologies.
Support business development and marketing e.g., client visits, event attendance, and collateral development.
Support direct client outreach by visiting (virtually or in-person) existing clients to explain climate change services and value proposition.
Work collaboratively with project managers to lead or support the development of the response to climate change-related proposal opportunities.
Support HR with key hires and augment the growing team.
Lead the development of procedures for technical delivery and QA/QC that will be applied across the practice area.
Education and Work Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture or another related discipline, Master's Degree considered an asset.
8+ years of related experience
Aware of key Canadian and International climate change regulatory drivers, standards, and policies.
Experience and confidence to lead and grow the business in a dynamic market environment.
Strong analytical skills, ability to think strategically, analyze and synthesize diverse qualitative and quantitative data and information.
