7+ years of Chemical Manufacturing experience preferred
Ian Martin Workforce is working alongside a global leader in the supply coatings, plastics, color pigments, and ink industries. As their new Production Manager, you will work closely with the shift supervisors, quality, engineers, and production personnel to recommend and implement improvements and maximize productivity and output.
Day to Day Responsibilities
Analyze the daily production performance log to ensure that process requirements are met and report problems to the attention of the support department(s) and management.
Create changes to the process or equipment in order to maintain or increase production and the reduction of downtime.
Closely cooperate with the Process supervisor and engineers to recommend and implement improvements to maximize productivity and output.
Track operating costs to meet budgetary requirements.
Participate in the labour relations initiatives within the operating group and preside over the grievance and disciplinary meetings at the second step.
Ensure the provision of training materials are available for the operating personnel.
Prepare budget data and analysis to support budget submission on an annual basis.
Liaise with Engineering Manager, Purchasing, and Quality Control to provide comprehensive production scheduling.
Schedule available manpower to ensure continued operations at all times.
Qualifications and Experience:
Minimum 7 years of experience in overseeing the production process, coordinating all production activities and operations in the manufacturing industry.
Experience working in the chemical process industry is considered an asset.
Lean Manufacturing experience
University/community college degree/diploma or equivalent experience will be considered as well.
CSCP or related certification is considered an asset.
Experience in managing Union relationships.
Exceptional leadership, motivational, organizational, problem-solving, and conflict resolution abilities.
Strong people skills and energetic approach to problem-solving and daily responsibilities.
Strong working knowledge of plant operations relative to environmental, health, and safety.
Exceptional communication skills.
Ability to multi-task.
Ability to project a positive public image.
