As their newest Millwright, you will inspect, repair, replace, install, adjust and maintain all mechanical equipment within specified departments within the Hamilton facility.

Day to Day Responsibilities:
Perform mechanical maintenance functions on all equipment required to produce quality products for operating units within the Business Unit listed
Integrate information into clear reports to convey incidents or conditions
Performing reactive work troubleshooting and repairing production equipment on a daily basis, preventing or reducing unplanned equipment delays
Perform inspections, repairs, rebuilds in both shop and plant environment
Must be able to work as a self-directed, motivated team member in a fully integrated manufacturing environment
Advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Basic personal computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook)
Capable of physically demanding work (both indoors and outdoors)
Self-starter with the ability to follow directions and work in a team environment with minimal supervision
Previous experience in heavy industry is considered an asset
Valid Ontario Driver’s license is considered an asset
Minimum high school diploma/GED
433A Certificate of Qualification or Interprovincial Red Seal is required
Consideration will be given to candidates with a 426A Construction Millwright Certificate of Qualification
Must be able to work 12 and 8-hour shifts, with extended hours as required due to period of peak workloads
Extended hours for shutdowns, emergency breakdown work, and call-in support
Heavy industrial environment, requiring 100% of the time per week in plant
Required to wear personal protective equipment
The use of respirators, fresh air breathing apparatus, and standard plant safety equipment may also be required
Exposure to noise, heights, confined spaces, lighting conditions, materials, products, and by-products associated with the manufacture of steel, temperature, and weather extremes that require the use of specialized protective devices or equipment
Required to climb stairs, ladders, and scaffolding to access elevations, able to crouch for periods of time, push, pull, lift and turn while carrying tools, material, and equipment in various parts of the facilities
