Ian Martin Workforce is working with a leading production mine in Northern Saskatchewan that is seeking experienced Underground Heavy Duty Mechanics to join their team. You will be responsible for providing mechanical support and expertise to all areas of the underground and surface operations. This position requires a thorough knowledge of the maintenance and repair of mining equipment and the motivation to work in a challenging environment with minimal supervision.
What you’ll be doing…
Adhere to the highest health and safety standards and be aware of the company’s policies and procedures on health & safety.
Ensure projects are carried out meticulously while meeting all budget and time constraints.
Repairing the surface and underground mechanical equipment in a timely and financially responsible manner.
Interpreting work orders and technical manuals.
Responsible for overhaul, maintenance, service, and reconditioning of mining equipment.
Responsible for troubleshooting and inspecting equipment to detect faults and malfunctions.
Determine the extent of repair required.
Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts.
Test repaired equipment for proper performance.
Clean, lubricate, and perform other maintenance work.
Responsible for giving direction and training to all levels of mechanics as needed and other departments as required.
Assist in the forecasting of parts.
Responsible for making recommendations regarding the extent of repairs and suggesting methods of improvement.
Work in a team environment and react to urgent operational needs while prioritizing other tasks.
Why this is the job for you…
Journeypersons license and have 2-3 years of heavy-duty equipment experience.
Previous underground work experience is preferred, open to Agricultural background
Working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, electronics, and machine assembly required
Must have own tools, specialty tools provided
Able to display strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Able to work both independently and within a team in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment with the utmost professionalism, discretion and confidentiality is essential.
Have a positive and proactive attitude towards safety
Confident in passing pre-employment screening including 10-panel Drug & Alcohol, and Fit for Work Medical Testing.
Must have own tools - top and bottom box, less than 3/4; anything over will be provided
Able to meet Transport Canada's travel requirements
Able to get to a pick-up point (Saskatoon, Prince Albert, or La Ronge) at own cost

14/14, 160 hours per rotation. Blended Rate (reg & OT) $54/hr. Rotations are Days to Nights, 12-hr shifts. Transportation is provided from pick-up points in Saskatoon, Prince Albert, or La Ronge.
