Ian Martin Workforce is working alongside a Food manufacturing facility that has been in business for 100 years. We are hiring 2 Maintenance Mechanics for the night shift that are experienced in machine setup, repairs/preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting on plant equipment. The equipment includes centrifuges, vacuum pumps, mixers, packaging machinery, conveyors, etc.

Ideally, to support the current team, we would like to see someone that has strong Electrical experience, and the ability to work with 120 DC as well as troubleshoot electrical components.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Performs scheduled maintenance repairs of plant equipment including, but not limited to gearboxes, centrifugal pumps, conveyors, packaging equipment, electrical motors, mixers.
  • Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance service.
  • Assists other Mechanics on emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production.
  • Installs replacement belts, filters, gears, chains, and valves
  • Rebuilds valves, pumps, and gearboxes with the assistance of Mechanic II.
  • Troubleshoot pneumatic, electric, and hydraulic machine problems and assist with necessary repairs.
  • Performs basic preventive maintenance tasks such as lubricating parts, drives chains, visual inspection, and others.
  • Comply with OSHA & CalOSHA safety and health rules (Confined Space, LOTO, etc).
  • Ensures tasks are completed in accordance with USDA regulations and BRC standards.
  • Maintains accurate records of maintenance work performed during his shift.

Education and Experience

Any combination of education and experience likely to provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities, typically:

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Trade School (of manufacturing relevance) and/or equivalent certification.
  • Mechanical or Electrical Technical degree
  • OSHA certification preferred.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Bi-lingual English/Spanish preferred.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read schematics and drawings.
  • Highly self-motivated and able to work well in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
  • Accuracy, organization, and attention to detail.
  • Able to develop and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Ability to read and interpret policies and procedures.
  • Ability to maintain confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
