Our client, one of the largest electrical energy suppliers in Canada, has an immediate need for a Recruitment Specialist. This is a contract position for three (3) months located in Vancouver, British Columbia.


The Recruitment Team is responsible for developing strategies to attract and hire exceptionally talented people that share the organization’s values. This includes providing clients and candidates with enticing and compelling experiences during the recruiting and hiring process. We're focused on building a scalable operation while working closely with leadership to develop creative, innovative solutions that support the organization’s changing needs. This position demands a balance of creativity and drive, along with strong persuasive influence and analytical skills. Recruitment Partners are responsible for the full recruitment lifecycle and typically manage 25-40 reqs at any given time


  • Implement staffing strategies to provide a qualified, inclusive and diverse candidate pool that reflects the values of the organization
  • Ensure hiring manager and team preparedness during the interview process and that interviews are conducted efficiently, professionally and in accordance with collective agreements, when applicable
  • Manage the candidate process and act as a candidate advocate - assess candidate experience, evaluate skill level, manage offer process, conduct reference checks, and make salary recommendations
  • Interface to negotiate and exchange information with all levels of leadership
  • Provide advice and support in understanding and administering collective agreements
  • Follow-up continuously with clients to confirm staffing plans and candidates’ needs are met
  • Consistently and positively contribute in a high-paced, changing work environment as well as the ability to prioritize multiple functions and tasks while managing work load efficiently
  • Continue to improve the experience for all stakeholders, including candidates, new hires, hiring managers, and colleagues.


  • Must have 3-5 years experience of full cycle recruitment
  • Must have experience with high paced & high volume recruitment
  • In-house recruitment experience is preferred
  • Experience in a unionized workplace with collective agreements/bargaining units is an asset
  • Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Human Resources, or other relevant field. Work experience may be considered in lieu of formal post secondary education. A CPHR designation would be considered an asset
  • Minimum 3 - 5 years of proven full cycle recruitment experience in a corporate, large complex organization implementing a wide range of staffing programs
  • Experience managing a large load of requisitions at any given time
  • Preference will be given to candidates with technical recruitment experience, either in IT or Engineering
  • Experience recruiting in an environment covered by one or more collective agreements is highly desirable
  • The ability to manage complex client relationships, provide strong customer consultative skills, and work in a large-team environment
  • Proven organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and work well in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment with competing demands
  • Self-directed, detail-oriented problem solver with a burning desire to contribute to the organization’s reputation and success
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an emphasis on tact, diplomacy and persuasive influence
  • Teamwork skills are a must along with the ability to quickly grasp new technologies
  • Experience using E-Recruit or other similar Applicant Tracking Systems

 Additional information

  • The resource can work from home, but may be required to come onsite to Dunsmuir for training and will be required to work onsite at least 2/3 days per week once covid worksite restrictions are lifted.
  •  The candidate must be located in the lower mainland.
