Our Client, one of North America's leading energy infrastructure companies with operations in natural gas, oil and power industries throughout Canada, the United States, and Mexico has an immediate need for a Intermediate to Senior Project Controller. This is a contract position for one (1) year. This is a Field role located in Kitimat, British Columbia. 

This position will be on a rotational schedule splitting time between the Calgary home office and a remote camp by Kitimat, BC. CGL will provide camp and transportation to the camp locations. The rotation will be 3 weeks in the field and 1 week off or work in the office. Field schedule will be 11 hour days, and the office schedule will be Monday-Friday.


  • Prepare monthly cost flow report including ensuring all period incurred costs are validated and captured, future forecast is aligned to schedule and progress data.
  • Create, maintain and manage cost forecasting/reporting systems to ensure accuracy and visibility of project estimates and budgets to project scope/objectives utilizing BI and SAP system;
  • Monitor costs and forecast in accordance to approved budgets and provide variance explanations as required;
  • Review monthly project charges for accuracy and make corrections as required;
  • Review and book monthly Progress Reports from Contractors for accuracy and reasonability including incurred cost and forecast;
  • Review and validate data with Functional Leads and other project controls teams including scheduling and progress team monthly cost reporting data; incurred cost, earned value and forecast;
  • Provides inputs and present to management monthly project management reporting and stage gate updates along with the monthly cost reports;
  • Attend Contractor meetings as required;
  • Maintain WBS structure;
  • Review all invoices for reasonableness, accuracy and validity;
  • Review and support the Management of Change (MOC) process;
  • Work with Supply Chain to ensure all contracts are coded appropriately to the project and Project Controls T&C’s are reviewed and attached with the contract;
  • Forecast costs to completion based on trends including productivity measurements, labour rate analysis, commitments, management of change, schedule impacts and material cost variance.

Must have:

  • Advanced Microsoft Apps working experience: Excel (Pivot Table, Power Query, VlookUp, XlookUp, etc) , MS Teams, SharePoint Online,
  • SAP and Cost management software’s including PIMS/PRISM/Ecosys
  • Understanding and experience in Earned Value analysis
  • Project Controls acumen
  • Communication and Presentation Skills
  • Team player
  • Field Experience
  • Nice to have:
  • Certified Cost Engineer (AACE CCP), Certified EVP
  • Experience with PIMS
  • Power BI
  • Pipeline Experience/ Rotation
