Our client, one of the largest electrical energy suppliers in Canada, has an immediate need for a Capital Project Scheduling Resource. This is a contract position for four (4) months located in Burnaby, British Columbia

 Description

Creates and maintains schedules supporting successful completion of moderate to large projects with medium to high complexity and risk, safely, with quality, within budget, and on time for engineering/construction capital projects

 Accountabilities

  • Plan, develop, maintain, and adjust project schedules by collaborating with Project Managers and Work Package Managers to meet the cost and schedule forecast.
  • Improve the schedules by using expert scheduling techniques, expert cost estimating skills, and an excellent understanding of project management principles and practices to deliver projects on time and on budget.
  • Create and maintain schedules efficiently by using advanced skills in relevant computer applications such as SAP and advanced skills in scheduling software to improve cost and schedule estimates throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Provide recommendations to Work Package Managers and Project Managers by monitoring performance measurements such as cost, schedule, and earned value so that schedules can be amended as appropriate.
  • Create and present reports of project progression against planned schedule by using advanced skills in MS Office applications to keep relevant managers informed.
  • Share scheduling skills and expertise with others to enhance scheduling capability

 Required

  • A minimum twelve (12) years of scheduling experience or equivalent.
  • Must have demonstrated experience in Project scheduling for engineering/capital construction projects
  • Experience with Primavera P6
  •  Experience with SAP is an asset
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, Science or related discipline and 2 years of scheduling experience or
  • Diploma of Technology or related field, plus 3 years of scheduling experience
  • Advanced skills in scheduling software such as Primavera
  • Intermediate skills in computer applications such as SAP
  • Advanced MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project)

 Additional Information

  • The resource can start on a work from home basis, but will be required to work onsite in Edmonds once COVID worksite restrictions are lifted.
  • The manager is open to seeing candidates who are willing to relocate for the role.
