Our client a leader in the automotive industry is currently seeking a Engineer 3A/Active Safety Test & Validation Specialist, the details are as follows:

As an Active Safety Test & Validation Specialist, you will be heavily involved in testing basic software functions like CAN/Ethernet Protocol, Diagnostics, Bootloader & Serial Data and ensuring that the software meets AUTOSAR and Adaptive AUTOSAR requirements. You will work in a cross-functional development team and interact with engineers globally to gather requirements, analyze testing needs, automate test cases, help troubleshoot basic software issues, and create better products for our customers. One of our biggest initiatives is to identify test scenarios that are critical and repetitive and automate them. This is a great opportunity where you will test and write code using specialized testing knowledge of multiple tools, techniques as well as gain technical skills in Python, automotive communication protocols and testing methodologies.

Your responsibilities include:

• Execute black box test cases to validate basic software functions

• Automate test cases using Python and engineering test methodologies.

• Maintain & improve documentation

• Troubleshoot & investigate automated test and controller issues

• Ability to anticipate problems & issues and recommend solutions to problems

• Prepare test results and reports with the highest industry standard


• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Software Engineering

• Experience with software tools like Python, C and software testing methodologies

• Experience with CAN/Ethernet communication protocols and test tools

• Experience in software testing

• Experience in a fast-moving environment and capable of meeting stringent deadlines

• Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to perform test automation

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Aptitude for learning, professional development and enjoys being a team player

Required Technical skills

• Electrical engineering/ testing experience

• Python

• Familiarity with automotive diagnostics

• Working with Controller Area Network (CAN) signals.

• Experience with ETAS INCA and Vector CANoe including CAPL scripting

Optional Technical Skills

• Lauterbach or Intrepid Vehicle Spy

• Experience with Socket Adapter Diagnostics (SoAD)

• Experience with the LIN protocol

• Experience with embedded software/firmware development
