Our client, a Canadian multinational energy transportation company with a focus on the transportation, distribution, and generation of energy, has an immediate need for a Advisor Procurement. This is a contract position for one (1) year located in Calgary, Alberta.

Description

The Advisor Procurement will support the electrical and instrumentation category by reviewing and analyzing material requisitions, preparing, and issuing request for quotes (RFQs), conducting commercial evaluations and issuing POs for operations and projects business unit clients. In addition will support the development and negotiations of master purchase and services contracts using approved templates or working from supplier paper.

Accountabilities:

  • Lead cross-functional teams through sourcing development, proposal solicitation (RFX), evaluation (bid tab), facilitation of technical/commercial clarifications, negotiation and contract execution processes including PO issuance
  • Ensure compliance with purchasing procedures and that user requirements are met.
  • Investigates and facilitates issue resolution relative to procurement activities as requested.
  • Enable Supply Chain strategic objectives by periodically reviewing and recommending adjustments to processes, systems, and tools.
  • Support development and negotiation of custom/complex material and service contracts by taking the lead in negotiating terms and conditions with support from our legal department and business unit leads
  • Identify sourcing strategy risks to the business and potential cost impacts.
  • Develop mitigation plans to address the sourcing risks.
  • Investigate and facilitate issue resolution relative to procurement activities as requested

Required:

  • 8 or more years of Supply Chain experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge and practical experience in the creation, negotiation, drafting and conducting markups of master material and service contracts
  • Experience purchasing electrical goods for liquids and gas transmission pipelines.
  • In depth knowledge of RFx development and execution, contraction preparation and contract management.
  • Proven soft skills in dealing with Stakeholders, Vendors and Peers.
  • Ability to work independently with limited guidance.
  • Effective communication (oral and written), strong interpersonal, and presentation skills, with influencing and persuasive talents.
  • Experience with ERP systems for PO creation. Specifically, Oracle - R12 or Cloud.
