Our client, a Canadian multinational energy transportation company with a focus on the transportation, distribution, and generation of energy, has an immediate need for an Operating Cost Advisor. This is a contract position for five (5) months located in Calgary, Alberta.

Description

As an integral member of the LP FP&A Operating Cost team, the incumbent will provide Financial Analysis and development of Liquids Pipelines results, budget and forecasts. Prepare timely, accurate and insightful analysis of monthly and year-to-date actual results to budget/forecast and of forecast-to-forecast highlighting past, current and future trends. Participate in the Unify Finance Transformation Initiative. Provide Ad-hoc analysis for and support of the Liquids Pipelines business unit.

Accountabilities

  • Assisting in the transition to a new financial system including data conversion
  • Working collaboratively with internal stakeholders on the preparation of annual shipper budgets
  • Reconciliation of current accounts to legacy accounts
  • Documentation of new and evolving processes
  • Ensure Corporate FP&A receives appropriate information for their reporting and analysis purposes.
  • Ensure FP&A teams receive accurate information for forecasting purposes and manage inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Other ad hoc analysis, as required.

Required

  • 4-7 years of post-designation experience.
  • Professional designation
  • Highly proficient in the use of Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills complemented by excellent attention to detail.
  • Uncompromising sense of integrity and high ethical standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills combined with a results-oriented business approach.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and strong orientation to customer service.
  • Innovator with assertive, friendly nature and approachable attitude. Independent self-starter, who is diplomatic, values other opinions and respects diversity.
  • Prior experience with Hyperion Planning is an asset.
