The role

We currently have an opportunity for a concrete field tester to join our NATA accredited team on a permanent full-time fixed term, 12-month contract basis working in the Brisbane Metro area reporting to the Narangba Laboratory. This is a unique chance for you to expand your sampling and testing skills and gain practical hands-on experience. Working in the field predominantly with laboratory work when required, this position will see you gain exposure to the compliance testing of concrete. Your primary duties will include a broad range of field sampling, testing, equipment calibration and computer-based analysis.

This position requires a Monday to Friday roster with some out of hours and weekend work.

Responsibilities

  • Sample and test concrete materials in the field and the lab
  • Analyse and report accurate results
  • Adhere to procedures and work systems
  • Perform equipment calibration and basic maintenance
  • Ensure workplace health and safety standards are maintained

What you will need to succeed but not essential (Training provided for the right candidate)

  • Experience in a similar sampling and testing role
  • Experience with Main Roads testing standards
  • Desirable but not essential Certificate III in Laboratory Skills or Cert IV in Laboratory Techniques
  • Construction Industry White Card
  • Strong analytical thinking skills
