The role
The Central Despatch Supervisor is a permanent, full-time role responsible for supervising the Central Despatch team and ensuring the safe, efficient and timely distribution of products across the Sydney concrete business.
Partnering closely with Logistics, Sales, Production and Operations teams, you will coordinate fleet scheduling, resource allocation and delivery planning to maximise fleet utilisation while maintaining high levels of customer service.
This role is based in Silverwater, NSW, working closely with internal stakeholders including Allocators, Customer Service Officers and plant teams to ensure effective daily dispatch operations.
Responsibilities
- Lead the Central Despatch team and provide operational coverage during peak periods or leave.
- Coordinate daily scheduling, resource planning and fleet allocation to maximise utilisation and efficiency.
- Liaise with Logistics, Sales, Site Coordinators and plant teams to manage workloads, delivery needs and customer commitments.
- Oversee delivery planning, operational meetings, communication flow and continuous improvement across dispatch systems and processes.
- Ensure COR compliance, safety standards, accurate payroll inputs and support training for new team members.
What you will need to succeed
- Experience in dispatch, logistics coordination, transport scheduling or concrete operations, with strong fleet allocation and delivery planning skills.
- Proven ability to lead or supervise operational teams with strong communication and stakeholder coordination.
- Confident decision‑making in fast‑paced environments with a strong focus on customer service, safety and efficiency.
- Ability to identify and implement improvements across dispatch and logistics processes.
- Advantageous: experience in construction materials or concrete operations, and familiarity with Command or similar dispatch systems.
